I have a size Large in the Multi-Top Short glove.
My hand measurements are:
Palm: 9 1/8"
Finger/hand length: 7 7/8"
These need a little bit of breaking in, especially because there's an insulated liner in the gloves. A few days of riding along with just wearing the gloves in the house and opening and closing my hands helped to break these in within a few days.
The leather combined with the insulated liner makes these a little bit stiffer than my Hi-Per gloves, which didn't need any break in.
The size large Multi-Top gloves fit me well. I am between a Large and an XL according to the sizing chart.
However, since I wear a size XL in the Racer Hi-Per, I opted to go with a Large Guide glove. Once I broke these in, they are began to fit well.
The finger length of the gloves are the same length as my fingers. There's a little bit of extra space in the pinky and ring finger, which confirms the Size Large was the correct choice for me.
An XL in this glove might have fit me well, especially since these have the insulation inside, however, the fingers might have been too long too long for me if I chose an XL
Also, the fit in the webbing area between the thumb and forefinger is correct (after break-in) for me with a Size Large in the Multi-Top Short glove.
I hope this helps anyone that's undecided about which size glove to purchase.
Breaking in tip: Just wear the gloves and open and close your hands for 10 minutes or so. Do that a few times, and the glove will conform to your hand.
Temperature: It's the middle of January as I write this review. With temperatures in the mid-30's, these gloves provide enough insulation for about a 40 minute ride.
But these gloves are rated for around 40-to-50 degree weather. I expect these are going to be ideal in the Fall season.
** Be patient with the Multi-Top Short. It'll take a few days to get them to conform to the shape of your hands.

To be honest. This is the third set of racer gloves I’ve purchased, but The first time I purchased them site unseen online. The sizing was wrong so I had to return the first set, and I had to pay the return shipping, which was frustrating and disappointing. when I received both sets of gloves, they appeared used to me. They were in Ziploc bags with no tags on them. The kangaroo leather looked dirty. I have no idea if they were used or new. i’m disappointed in the purchase and the return process. I will not be purchasing racer again.

I first learned about Racer from the STG shootout video from a couple years ago. I tried all the major brands of race/track gloves (Held, A*, Revit, etc) but couldn’t find the right combination of fit, construction, comfort, feel, or protection. The super high-end stuff at $500 just didn’t make sense either. I had been using Helimot for several years, where they would take a glove back in the shop and rework it for you - but unfortunately the owners retired.
I found the Racer High-Speed checked all the boxes at a fair price. In particular, the fit was outstanding. Good finger lengths, no slop, and the chassis didn’t cause cramping or numbness.
I was a little skeptical that the Multitop could be as special as the High-Speed, especially at its price point, but I think it’s going to be a great cool weather and rain glove for the street. It is not as protective as a race glove, I.e. no pinky bridge, but it does have the extra layer on the pinky edge, palm slider, etc. For a rain glove, the feel is about as good as you can hope for. The lining has to be there. However, I think the kangaroo palm helps with feel a bit. The short cuff still offers some protection, and seems to work as an inside the jacket or over the jacket option. You stay drier in real rain with the jacket cuff over the glove. The only weakness might be retention. There is no cinch strap at the wrist, so there some risk of loosing a glove in a crash. Other than that, I think the MultiTop short is part of my new street/tour go-to kit.
It will be exciting to see what Max can do to develop the Racer brand for the US market.

After coming from the Knox boa system, the Velcro closure system is a letdown. I don't feel confident that these will stay on during a crash. Would be better if it had a fold back Velcro system like on the regular Multitop.

Have had my multitop-short for about a month now. Very comfortable right from the start and the perfect level of warmth for SoCal winters (with heated grips and had guards). I think the 2-tone looks great. My only gripe is that I wish the single velcro retention strap felt a bit more secure, but these are the closest to the perfect winter glove (for me) that exists.

I returned them. great quality well made excellent glove, but wrong for me. A little short in the fingers and too warm for what I was looking for. If you want a short cuff waterproof glove for cool to cold temps these would be great. I need a glove for warmer weather.

Great gloves with good protection.

My Racer gloves fit the bill. And "fit" they do! In the past I purchased more expensive gloves from competitors and they simply don't fit me well, these fit perfect.
The build quality is excellent, I haven't tested the waterproofing yet so I can't vouch for that.
I now own two pair (different styles) for multiple seasons and I plan to be a long term customer.
Thank you Racer!

Good gloves well made. They are a little thicker than regular with the waterproof lining, but nowhere near as thick as something with a thinsulate line. Comfortable out of the box, sized well and do a great job of keeping the wind out on those chillier NorCal mornings. They do seem a little wide at the wrist however, so how they secure they would be at freeway speeds if you were Unfortunate enough to go down, I don’t know. Hopefully, I never find out.

Usually I wear a size large but ordered medium according to your sizing guidelines. Initially they felt tight, but after a day riding in the rain they broke in and fit perfectly! Trust the sizing chart. Very happy with my purchase and likely will buy more Racer gloves.

Already have a couple of pairs of racer gloves, very comfortable gloves, thought I would try a pair of the waterproof gloves, they run a tad bit larger than my other gloves, but look just as well made, and seem like they should be everything I was hoping, got close to 25,000 miles on my first pair of racer gloves, everything from 40f to 118f, they are even more comfortable today than when they were new, all day comfortable, no reason to find another brand, these are the best.
John L.
My third pair of Racer gloves. They are the best, most comfortable gloves money can buy. Don’t hesitate. Just buy them!

This is my third pair of racer gloves and I have a 4th pair in my cart right now. Absolutely the best. These have been very warm for winter riding and absolutely waterproof. I find the size chart is always spot on but for me this particular model felt a bit roomier in the width than my others so I wish the wrist strap could get a bit tighter. Comfort is top notch. As I have said about my other racer models, I forget that I am wearing them and that is the highest compliment I can give for riding gear. Thanks Racer! Mike

This is a good glove. Lower 40’s to 60 is good. Definitely some bulk to it because of the liner but better than my winter gloves!

Love the fit and attention to detail!

Excellent pair of gloves. Fits just right and keeps me warm down to the 40's, any colder and I need heated gear. I dig the protective features: palm sliders, ulna protection and carbon fiber hard knuckle to name a few. I also really like the look as I've always been a fan of black leather gloves with a tan palm. The feel of the controls is excellent, and the gloves allow the dexterity I want in a glove like this.
There are two things that caused me to knock a star off. One - the gloves come off too easily when pulled, yes, the velcro wrist strap is secured. It's not as bad when the gloves are under my jacket cuffs. Two - no touchscreen support. Other than that, these are great gloves that are priced right.

They look great and the fit is perfect. Very comfortable inside. There are no pressure points or seams that could cause irritation during a ride. It is definitely a cool weather glove. In temps above 70 or 75 fahrenheit, my hands started to perspire. Just got them a couple of weeks ago, so don't know about how they'll wear, but everything looks perfect right now.

These are my third pair of Racer gloves and I've yet to be disappointed in any of my purchases. I wanted a short, waterproof glove for winter riding and these have proven to be perfect. Riding in mid 40 degree temps with these gloves and heated grips has kept my hands perfectly warm. They're very comfortable and have the high quality I expect from the Racer products.

Ok, fits kind of tight for a XL

These are the best motorcycle gloves I've found after decades of riding. I have the Pitlane glove which is a wonderful 3 season/dry riding glove with excellent fit, tactile feedback and sizing for my hand. I'm on the edge of Medium and Large, and the Medium Pitlane fits perfectly.
The Multitop (my second pair) are great wet weather gloves and equal to the Pitlane in quality and fit/finish. I like the palm sliders, The other key areas of risk are well protected with padding strategically placed. The fit is a little tighter as a result of the waterproof membrane/liner, so breaking them in takes a little longer for me. If you are a straight Medium: no worries with Medium; or a straight Large, also no worries with Large sizing. With a middle case like mine: expect some breakin.

tried early september find them too warm but perfect for cooler temperature , i love the fit the're perfect i choose the right color for my vstrom 1050 xt

This is my third pair of Racer Gloves. I use a pair at the track and shorter cuff versions for the street. They fit well, are made well, are durable and offer great protection . What more can I say?
Bryce M.
Exactly what I was expecting. High quality glove with a company that cares about great customer service.
Mervyn D.
The gloves are well made and look great. Looking forward to using them in the fall on cold rainy day!!

These are excellent, very well-made gloves. The sizing guide is dead-on balls-perfect as far as I am concerned. I expect these to break in a bit, and get even softer and more flexible -- I have only just had the chance to use them on two rides. Fit is good, they seem to be well constructed, and they look good.
Marc P.
Very well made gloves. I got a large which is what I normally wear but after two rides they are still a bit snug in the fingers and when grabbing the throttle. Probably just need a bit more time to stretch. Otherwise, I really like them!

I’ve been wearing Racer gloves since the first Short Sport glove, which I still have, I updated to the new Short Sport 2 which was approved upon from the first one. I still wear my Short Sport 2 and I have a brand new back up pair ready to go when those become unusable. These MultiTop Short gloves are great and have everything that the short sport doesn’t. I prefer the “Short” style gloves best and these are exactly what I want, waterproofing and a liner so that on the colder days I can still ride comfortably and feel like I’m wearing my “Normal Short Gloves” however I believe these are slowly becoming my every day gloves and not just on the cold days. Thanks Racer Gloves keep them coming!

These are great for medium weather conditions. For winter in western Washington I pair them with heated grips and handlebar muffs. The are very versatile for many weather conditions. These have to be the best bang for the buck gloves on the market. I’m very impressed on the quality of these especially with the reasonable price.

RACER Gloves are nothing short of fantastic! These Multitop street gloves are the most comfortable and nicest pair of gloves I've ever owned. They offer great protection and feel instantly 'familiar'...Like I'd owned them for years.
As good as the gloves are, the company (or more precisely the people) are even better. This is my second pair of RACER Gloves, and their customer care is second to none. Highly Recommended!
